Aladdin, the 1992 animated Disney classic became the highest grossing film of that year, also garnering two Academy Awards. The soundtrack, with score by Alan Menken and lyrics by Howard Ashman and Tim Rice also won the Grammy Award for Song of the Year for “A Whole New World” holding the distinction of being the first and only Disney song to win this award.
